Stuart Turner Marine Engines
The company was founded by Marmaduke Stuart Turner who in 1903 was building model steam engines. They entered, the marine propulsion world in 1929 with an order for 50 engines. For a long time they enjoyed a virtual monopoly on marine engines up to 8hp, the 1.5hp Stuart Turner R3MC being in production for nearly 50 years.
When Stuart Turner eventually stopped making marine engines, Fairways Marine stepped in having previously built up a wealth of experience with Stuart Turner marine engines, which had powered their fleet of charter boats since 1960.
